Immigration pilots are limited term programs specifically designed to address the needs of particular areas and communities in Canada. They aim to bring unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled foreigners in to address these shortages by creating a path to permanent residence for those who want to live and work permanently in Canada.
Atlantic Immigration Program 2022
Introduced in 2022, The Atlantic Immigration Program is a pathway to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers and international graduates from a Canadian institution who want to work and live in 1 of Canada’s 4 Atlantic provinces—New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador. The program helps employers hire qualified candidates for jobs they haven’t been able to fill locally.
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot closed on December 31, 2021. If you received a valid provincial certificate of endorsement before December 31, 2021, you can still apply for permanent residence under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot until March 5, 2022.
The Atlantic Immigration Program has replaced the pilot. You can submit your permanent residence application to the new program starting March 6, 2022.
Home Child Care Provider or Home Support Worker Pilot 2022
The Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot are 5-year pilot programs that let qualified caregivers and their family members come to Canada with the goal of becoming permanent residents.
If you’ve been offered a job in Canada as a caregiver or have experience working in Canada as a caregiver, you may be able to apply for permanent residence through one of these pilots.
The application process will be different depending on your situation and how much qualifying work experience you have.
The pilots are open to new applications
You can now apply under the new 2022 caps for the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot.
In 2022, we’ll accept up to 2,750 applications for each pilot.
If you already applied
You don’t need to contact us about your application. We’ll send you a notification letter as soon as possible to confirm we received your application. It may take longer than usual for you to get this letter due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
